We wholeheartedly appreciate the letter from Dr. Vieira and Dr. Kumar and then have
the opportunity to clarify the questions about these two papers published in Clinical
Biomechanics (
Chen and Lee, 1997
;
Lee and Chen, 2000
). Firstly, it seemed that the incorrect Tables 2 and 4 in our published paper (
Chen and Lee, 1997
) were used during revising process and unfortunately, they were still not revised
in time in the final proof. The mistakes were due to our carelessness. However, we
have to emphasize that the regression models in the paper had been validated through
other four subjects though we did not give the correct table (Table 4). The mistake
was very obvious because the same data were found in the third column in Tables 2
and 4 but with different items. One possible reason is that the data were misused
(i.e., miscopied) when these tables were edited. Even so, we do not think these mistakes
would reduce the contribution of the prediction in vertebral angles in lumbar spine
in this paper (
Chen and Lee, 1997
) and another one (
Lee and Chen, 2000
).To read this article in full you will need to make a payment
